LSM Faxing Feature

Introduction: LSM Faxing Feature is a project that focused on improving the faxing process for physicians. The project aimed to create a new user workflow that would make the process of faxing documents easier and more intuitive. In this case study, I will describe the design process that I used to create the new LSM Faxing Feature.

User Research: The first step in the design process was to conduct user research. I interviewed several physicians to gain an understanding of their faxing needs and pain points. After I has several meetings through the whole process with the Product Owner and BA who was familiar with what the users also wanted to accomplish. I also conducted a Design Thinking Workshop using a FigJam template to gain insights.  From the research, I discovered that the current process was tedious and time-consuming. Physicians had to send a fax on their own with no way to keep track and had to call the help desk for verification, and it was challenging to manage their contacts.

Information Architecture: With the insights from user research, I created an information architecture that focused on simplifying the faxing process. The new design included three pages: Compose Fax, Recent Faxes, and Contact. The Compose Fax page allowed physicians to upload documents and add notes. The Recent Faxes page displayed a list of the last ten faxes sent, while the Contact page enabled users to manage their contacts. I also created a roadmap for the developers with each page as a Phase.

Wireframing: Once the information architecture was complete, I created wireframes for each of the three pages. The wireframes were created in collaboration with the development team, ensuring that the designs were feasible to build.

Prototyping and Usability Testing: After the wireframes were approved, I created a high-fidelity prototype for the LSM Faxing Feature. The prototype was then tested with UserTesging Application to ensure that it was intuitive and easy to use. The feedback from the usability testing was overwhelmingly positive, with users finding the new design much easy to navigate and intuitive.

Visual Design with the design validated, I created a visual design that aligned with LSM’s branding. The design included a clean, modern interface that made it easy to distinguish between the different pages.

Final Design and Development: The final design was handed over to the development team, who built the feature. The feature was launched, and user feedback was collected. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with physicians reporting that the new design had made the faxing process much easier.

I was responsible of conceptualizing and crafting a promotional advertisement for a DC magazine, strategically aimed at resonating with the passionate DC fan community. To achieve this I executed a special approach by not only employing my personal DC footwear but also leveraging the capabilities of a Canon Rebel camera to capture high-quality product imagery. Furthermore, I arranged dynamic action shots featuring a skilled skateboarder, thereby ensuring that the advertisement authentically represented the brand’s ethos and engaged the target audience effectively.

Allow users to enroll with up to 3 client accounts and also with national accounts. If there are multiple faxes on file for the client accounts we will fax a unique code to each fax machine.  We will also allow for the unique code to be sent again to a fax.

To solve this I simply added to the current workflow a design that now would allow the user to visually see which accounts they have started the enrollment for during the process. As you can see at the top of the first layout I display a Selected Practice(s) card that renders throughout the enrollment process until Verify Account page.
